After being stuck in Malaysia for some time, at the beginning of the year we could fly our two A-Star Ecureuil helicopters over to Papua. Now they have been released from customs and flown over to our base. Our team were there to welcome them.
Some work still needs to be done before they can be put into service. These two “new” helicopters have been brought to Papua to standardize the fleet. It is now planned to gradually sell off the other types (Bell Longranger L3 and L4). We are standardizing the fleet because with just one helicopter type, we only need spare parts for the one type and thus save time and money. This releases finances for the needy people we are there to serve.
Currently our fleet consists of 9 helicopters.
